Speke Hotel
is named after the famous British explorer, John Hannington Speke,
pictured to the right, who 'discovered the source of River Nile.
Speke Hotel is the first and oldest hotel in Uganda, built in
the British Colonial times of the 1920s. It has, of course, gone
through renovations, but has maintained its colonial ambience.
The hotel has 50 ensuite rooms which all have the modern luxury
facilities that one would expect.There are also several themed
restaurants (including Italian and Indian) and one of the best
cocktail bars in Uganda.
